All share/savings accounts are insured up to $250,000 by the NCUA, which is an agency of the Federal Government.
Life Savings Insurance
Each PITTSBURGH FIREFIGHTERS Federal Credit Union member's share/savings account is insured. This insurance is a member benefit and provided at no cost to you. The insured amount is based on:
1. When you joined the Credit Union
2. Your balance the day before age 55,60,65,70 & date of death
3. Use of your IRA balance, if not in shares to reach maximum benefit
4. Your shares have not been taken below $4,000.00 from the time you reached 55
Loan Protection Insurance
This insurance is paid on Loans/Visa's up to $25,000.00 at no cost to you up to the day before your 75th birthday.
Home Equity Loans are excluded.
*Please note that if we have a Beneficiary Card on file, the Life Insurance is paid to whomever is listed on that card, not the Joint Owner of the account.
